Love - Art - Disease - Pain - Life-Humanness - "Otherness"
In our desensitised society,
the artists,
the bohemians, poor, discarded,
"others", recovering addicts -
all are more in touch
with their human-ness
than the so called
mainstream.
Despite everything -
HUMANNESS, LOVE, LIFE, ART survives.
-Jonathan Larson

Today I am pensive. I think I've matured a bit in the past four days.
Saturday was my first book signing. I didn't know what to expect, but the store sold out of the books they had in stock, and took my 7 personal copies to put on store shelves. Not too shabby for an unpublicized event. I'm looking forward to the bigger events coming up at Barnes & Noble stores and The Holiday Market.
The rest of the weekend was exhausting, but worth it (aformentioned maturity). Relationships are delicate things. It's give and take...but sometimes when there is too much take and not enough give, things can go awry. It takes two to tango and I am a staunch believer that a healthy relationship can get through anything with understanding, communication and a little bit of squish-face. Someone once told me,(this morning, in fact), that "relationships are like fine crystal: once it's chipped, it's never the same". Don't take things so seriously. Don't worry about the future. Don't worry about what people think of you. Trust. Love. Live. There is no script. True that...true that.
